Making a stand for Hawaii's 4x4 enthusiasts!!
Aloha,
On January 22, 2007 the Honolulu Advertiser printed a story on ATV's and other off-road vehicles on illegal terrain. They go further saying, we are "...endangering beach users and wildlife, and destroying cultural resources and vegetation, including indigenous plants."
You can read the story here: ATV'S ROLLIN' INTO ILLIGAL TERRAIN
People are now making statements that owner's of off-road vehicles should only be allowed to drive on land that they own. However, having 20 acres of land to call our backyard is something that most of us cannot afford.
It is unfortunate that in this sport there are those who abuse the system, the home owner in the article, for his own safety has every right to complain. This is why the Hawaii 4x4 Community wanted to prove that not all 4x4 enthusiasts disrespect the public and the land, in fact majority of us are very different from what the media portrayed us to be. This led us to create an Online Petition and are hoping to get some signatures and support from all 4x4 enthusiasts nationwide!!
Please sign our petition at: www.forhawaiisoffroad.com and PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!
We are also looking for Business Owners, Organizations, and Companies who would like to support us as well. We're not asking for anything, we just want people to support the cause. We will add your link and business information under our 'Supporters" section of the website.
If interested please contact: makeastand@forhawaiisoffroad.com
Mahalo (Thanks!)

I already signed it. Anybody that supports the proper use of off-roading vehicles should support this. Our Hummer club is also trying to do something similar in Northern Indiana. Marc's group also does charity work so they aren't just out for themselves.
Thanks HummerGuy!!
Yeah we've done the Toys for Tots Charity and a FREE concert and are looking to do more this year.
We need all the signatures and support we can get!! Hawaii has tons of trails but are closed to the public mainly due to the lack of responsibility some of our 4x4 drivers display. The article posted did not help the 4x4 community at ALL this is why we need to show the public that there are responsible drivers out there; signatures no matter from here or the mainland will help us prove that!
Your info is confidential and will not be made public. I am the only one who has access to the emails, and believe me I have no intention of using it other than this purpose.
Thanks guys.

That's cool. I wish more people would get involved and care more about doing things for others instead of just having them look pretty (again, NO Offense to anybody, especially you HummBob
