Default Makeing Mine Electric

I am new to Forums, so I apologize ahead of time. The company I work for is considering a move from converting Chevy p/u trucks to electric, to converting HMMWV's to Electric. Somehow I got tasked with jumping in the Hummer waters to test the idea and its reception,. It would get 275hp peak at zero RPM, and 60 road miles range, and no noise. These are all already mechanically dead, just giving them a new Charge" of life. so what do you think? a FrankenHummer Zombie, or a Lee Majors 6million dollar Man Idea?

What is mechanically dead? Making a 6,800 pound h1 with 37" tires into an electric vehicle? I suppose anything is possible, but why? and hummers are no longer in production, so this would be an add on that someone would have to purchase, which would be a huge rebuild. I don't see it.

mechanically dead, as this first one is one that the military mechanics used as a supply of parts. We are using a M1097A2, model HMMWV, we are using the mantra "If diesel runs thru it, its gonna lose it". No engine, exhaust, fuel tank, transmission. we mount the Electric Motor directly on the Transfercase, and wiith our students doing all the work, and the HMMWV costs us less than 10,000 dollars we can sell them for 32,000 completed.

How are you going to provide enough torque directly to the transfer case? I would think you would need at least a 13 inch motor but I would be way worried about that whole 3 ton vehicles resistance to motion and the effect that would have on the coils. Have you done anything this large before? I know it's something I would be interested in seeing but not necessarily owning right now.

Thank you for your time. We mount the motor on a mounting plate and that onto the Transfer-case. now the transmission would be needed if doing a lot of slower off road stuff, under 15mph. a 10" DC gives us 1700 Foot Pounds, and the 13" gives us 2000 FT LB, at 0-500 rpm. We have done 2, M35/M44 2.5 ton trucks. as for the coils in Trans-Case, they should be okay, just make sure you have it in the appropriate range, Hi, or Low gear.
