Well I've been dreading all of the repairs my H2 needed but it was time. I've had a rear main seal leak for the last year and my paver driveway has had enough, so I sent it into the shop to be repaired yesterday.

Since the transmission had to come out anyway, I went ahead and will have it rebuilt along with a new torque converter.

I've had an error code for cats for a few months too, they discovered today that one of the cats had come apart and is now in the muffler, so a new cat back is ordered and the other cat has been cut out.

They will also install new half shafts that I've had in my garage for 2 years.

They are also going to install a new A/C dryer as it seems a little too hot on some days. I've had it in and out of the shop for this all summer and since the compressor is good, the only thing left is a new dryer.

So when its all said and done, with new HP tuners tune, the guy is only charging me $2200.00. I feel like it was toooo big of a bargain to pass up.

I've never allowed anyone to really work on my vehicles before so I'm going thru separation anxiety now.

That is a great deal if he does good work. Your H2 will love you a long time.

 

The truck runs awesome now. He did a great job and its happy. He changed the shift points a little and added a degree of timing and it makes a huge difference. Transmission shifts smooth and he said I was about to loose 3rd gear due to a warn shaft and seal area and some other parts that I can not remember. Anyway its good to go now.

We're going to work on a single turbo project now....

deal? ... that's a steal . I paid 2200 only for the rear main seal .
another 1400 for transmission
etc

 

He quoted $1100 for rear main and then said well if its all apart we might as well do the transmission. His trans price was $1700 plus converter so I turned it around and said since the trans is out, how about tossing in the rear main, I had the part so there was really no labor difference.

Miami next time you need service, bring it up here and let him take care of it.
