I currently own an 06 h3 w/adv pckg and looking to upgrade to an Alpha w/adv pkg. I am also looking to put a Magnacharger and/or getting it tuned from PCM4less. Question is, would either require more than regular (85 octane) fuel, or would I have to go up to mid/premium grade? Had anyone done these with an Alpha (particurally the magnacharger or combo of both)??? I am sure there would be a noticable differance? thanks in advance!

 

It probably depends upon what you intend to do with it.

PCMforless does a fine job and their tune will provide a great bang for the buck improvement. If you add an intake, exhaust system, and Efan conversion, you will have completely reliable perormance requiring nothing but 87 Octane (85 is not regular in MI). You're power at the wheel will be about what the stock truck is rated at the flywheel, which is pleanty to break sheet when wheeling.

With a magnacharger, you won't get much more, but you will kill your resale, be stuck with whatever PCM tuning they offer, and likely to break more stuff.
