Default MAF cleaning

I bought a can of CRC MAF sensor cleaner last week and plan on cleaning the maf this weekend. Is it really necessary to unhook the positive battery cable before doing this? I read somewhere to do this so the computer can learn the new idle? Any thoughts? Thanks

Nancy, some times i wonder how you managed to survive this long . . . .

i cleaned mine without disconnecting the battery, i don't think it hurt. the truck drove the same after cleaning, the only real reason to clean it is to remove any oil or other contaminants that make it through the filter. especially important if you have an aftermarket filter and over oil it.
