Default Low-speed vibration/rub

Hey Guys,

I have an 07 H3 lux pkg. Lately, I've been feeling a vibration/rub in the steering wheel that can be felt throughout the cabin when coming to a complete stop. This happens for maybe 2-3 seconds just as the truck is coming to rest. I also get the same feeling when making a left-hand turn at low speeds (like turning into a parking spot) and intermittently when coasting at 5-10 mph. I originally thought this was probably a warped rotor in the rear, but the more I read about vibrating sounds throughout the forum, the more I start to think the problem could be more serious. Just wanted to get some of you guys' input before I spend the time and money to replace my pads/rotors only to find that it doesn't remedy the issue.

Cheers!

Could be rotors, but just to be safe I would check all steering components, tie rods, steering stabilizer........Could be worn, and have play in them. Does the steering seem to be loose at all? Does it happen only when you apply the brakes?

I have sorta the same with mine besides other things. So hard to pinpoint. I have to fix rack but should be able to get the fix ordered for that this week. I am gonna replace shocks after but now have a.noise in the front left that is definitely something that is turning with the wheel and don't k.ow how to till if it is an axle or cv or what!!?? Morebprominent at extremely slow speeds.
Anyway back to you, i would suggest jacking up the front and give it a look and try to wobble the tire back and forth as well as check everything for play. You may fond you have a steering rack issue as i do. Or anything the above mentioned.

Egro: Yep, only happens when I apply the brakes. I did notice something today with it, though. When I get the vibration/rub there is a quick, slight drop in rpms (from around 750 to 500). Leads me to think I may have a gummed up air-flow sensor and dirty throttle body ( I do have an oiled K&N filter). Gonna take those off this weekend and give 'em a good clean to see if that remedies the issue.

Exclamation **Update**

So I took some time Saturday morning to clean my MAF and throttle body, and that has taken care of the vibration I was getting. I also cleaned and re-oiled my K&N air filter. There's a great write-up with pictures for this procedure located here:

H3 Throttle body and MAF sensor cleaning

I was not able to completely remove the TB (couldn't get the damn sensor harness and vacuum hose off!) so I gave it the best cleaning I could while it was still attached to the engine.

Unfortunately, I now have 2 new issues. After reconnecting my battery, I now have a HVAC control problem that I have seen a couple of posts about, but no remedy. My A/C blows cold on max air on the first temperature setting, but if I move the temp over 2 clicks to the right (towards warm) the temp changes to full blown heat. I tried the recalibration procedure, but that changed nothing.

I must also have another issue, because this morning my check engine light illuminated on the drive to work. Nothing changed with the quality of my ride, still feels good after the TB and MAF clean. I'm hoping this is just from the change in air flow. As always, any input would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

You've got to get that hose off of there and take the TB completely off to properly clean it. The back side which you cannot access when it is on the vehicle is just as dirty and gunked up as the front side. Plus by only having one side cleaned it is very possible that gunk was pushed through to the inside which could cause more problems. That hose is simple to take off. Just go to a garage and have someone show you. Bring it home and clean it, then reset the codes.
