Default Love my 08 H3 alpha but

The rattles are out of control, the heated seats work on and off, the Nav. Screen goes in and out.... Love my truck but a ton of quirks!

Did you buy it new or used? If used, did it have a clean Carfax? How many miles are on it?

I have an '08 Alpha H3x with about 26,000 miles on it. I've had it for over a year and everything is tight on it and I the only time my navi screen flashes is when I start it up. Once it's on, it stay's on.

About the only thing I hear is the low tone growl of the V8 when I am sitting at traffic lights.

The only reasons I can think of your issues is that it has a ton of miles on it, it was in an accident at some time or someone has beat the tar out of it offroading.

I hope you get to the bottom of it because I know how annoying rattles are.

Default Was perfect when i got it

The quirks and rattles are small and I have found most, I did have the windshield replaced and the moulding is now loose, once I fix that I should be good. It was used and spotless, I quess I am a little rough on it. The heated seat was just a switch but the Nav. is a pain when it goes blank. I searched on here and somone recc. carbon conductive grease on the connections but that did not work. I only have around 50k on the truck now.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, but it sounds like you have most fixed now.
My '08 had a couple minor noises that I tracked down and eliminated, but is now rattle and squeak-free.

Yeah, the H3's do have more reported issues than say, a Toyota corolla, but it was basically a completely new vehicle design, from a new branch of GM, being assembled for the first time outside the Hummer factory. Not terribly suprising that there are some things to address considering how far out of the box GM went with this particular vehicle.
Most of the issue with the H3 are fairly minor, and most would have continued to been addressed, had the Hummer brand not been ditched.

It goes with the territory of buying a vehicle from a defunct manufacturer.

Don't forget, when a rig gets wheeled, stuff gets rattled and comes loose. That's the downfall of putting high end options in an offroad vehicle.

I've got 58,000 on mine and no problems at all.

The switches for the heated seats were poorly located. Lots of people inadvertently switch them on getting into the trucks. Switches on both front seats were replaced on mine under warranty. That seemed to help.

dont forget after you do some advanced wheeling, you should go for an allignment, have the undercarriage power washed and a general servicing done..... the dealer should know what to check.....

Depending on the in service date and the actual in service mileage you could still be under the 4 year 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.

Call a local GM dealer and ask for those 2 items. If you are still under the B2B warranty take that sucker in now so you have a record of the issues for the "after warranty" period.
