looking for an H3...
I've loved them since I first saw them...and now that it's time for a new SUV...I'm looking to get one!
What should I expect to pay for an 06 with low mileage at this point? Are the warranties 4 yr/50000 bumper to bumper?
Any tips on things to watch out for?
Thanks in advance!

I see prices all over the scale for 2006 H-3s.
I know of a beautiful Yellow Lux package with 11K miles on it, you can probably get for $22K.Lots of extras on this one. I did not buy it because of the warranty. The 4 year 50K mile bumper to bumper/5 year 100K drive train warranty did not start until 2007. The 2006 Hummers will not have this warranty. There have been issues with some of the 2006 models and the cylinder heads.
You will see prices on 2006 H-3s from $17K to $23K depending on options and miles.
You can buy a new base model for $27,000.
One of the first things I noticed about the H-3 was how nice it rides, and how nice it handles.
Good luck in your search, that is half the fun.

I don't know how much that cost would be.
Here is a link to all the threads about the "head" problems with the 2006 H-3 ( relly not limited to Hummer, but all GM products with that engine)
https://www.hummerforums.com/forumid_224/tt.htm
I read every one of these posts, so I can not pin point which one had the string of VIN numbers to avoid.
I have nothing against the 06 H-3, in fact I really wanted the one I drove, and if I could have gotten a warranty that would have fixed the head if I did have a problem, I may have bought it.

My brother just bought an 08 alpha with 7000 miles, sunroof, navigation and chrome wheels for $23,000. I think he was just in the right dealership at the right time!!!
I'm going to revise my search and only look at 07s up, based on the warranty information and the "head" problems I've read about here.
I guess the warranty info on this site must be incorrect?

Thanks for the info!

I've seen the warranty for the 06s written that way elsewhere.
I just remember looking for a new car for the wife in 07 and the story was GM started offering the 4year/50K miles in that 07 MY.
I certainly wouldn't trust what a salesman would say.
When I bought the 08 H-3 I saw all the warranty paperwork. That was important to me.
Buying an 06 now that you are educated shouldn't be a deal killer. Do the research.
I would have to say that just the newer H-3s offer more torque and power, that alone is a reason to buy a newer, but, as I satated elsewhere, I don't have a problem with any model year H-3.

Your brother really did get a great deal.
I've been working on the 08 I bought for a couple of weeks, looking everywhere for a new left over 2008.
I've found a couple 2009s with almost no mileage on them, but I could not get a good deal on them at all.
They are actually selling Hummers around here.

My brother got his a few months ago when gas was so high. I'm guessing that's why he got such a good deal. This is his rig...all set to pull away from an RV park...
