I have a Black 2008 H3 and am looking to de-chrome certain parts of it. I was able to get the dealership to throw in a pair of chrome nerf bars back when I bought it (I assume they are GM-made) and am wondering if I can bring them to a shop to get them Line-X'ed, given that it has plastic grip pads that could prove difficult to paint around.

If I did get them Line-X'ed, would the paintjob hold up or would it fade/get dirty due to the bars being stepped-on all the time, etc?

Am I better off buying something like these or these instead?

i just got my rear fenders line x;d they can cut the tape to fit any dimension, what they did to mine the rubber parts are nothing, it wont fade or crack, warranty is good, you can go regular or high gloss, i recommend it
