Kimber is riding on their early reputation and not the gun it used to be. I have several friends who have had MIM (non forged, cheap metal injection moulded parts) parts breakages. Even Colt who used to have MIM extractors changed back to the billet extractors about three years ago though they still use other MIM parts. As far as I know only the new Detonics and high end Wilsons do not use MIM. The Springfields that the FBI and LAPD Tactical got are not the same TRP they sell to the public.I replaced the disconnector, sear, slide stop in my Colt CCO as well as the plastic main spring housing.[/align][/align]
