Default Lease Residual Negotiation

Can anyone share if GM is willing to negotiate with people as they're turning in their H3's off lease on the residual? Or are they outright offering incentives to buy H3s? Curious so that I can start planning accordingly.

Feedback from anyone who has recently turned in their H3 would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My lease is up next Thursday, and I plan on buying, so I've done all the investigating. The bad news: GMAC WILL NOT negotiate with you, or even offer incentives. The good news: Talk to your dealer. They can buy your HUMMER from GMAC at a reduced price, and resell it to anyone but you (the name on the lease). So....you get your wife or trusted family member to buy it, and then get it transferred back to your name at the Secretary of State. I actually talked to (2) different dealerships, my Hummer dealer, and a Chevy dealer (you can turn it back in to ANY GM dealership), and practically had a bidding war between them, to give me the best price. I'm getting it for about $2k less then my lease buy-out price!

Seems like a lot of people were in 2 year leases? I guess ours was long in being 4 years? I've been seeing a lot of '08 H3 Alphas hitting eBay.

When I leased mine, the deals were unbelievable! Apparently GM produced the Alphas in response to complaints of H3's being underpowered, but, at the same time they 'upped' the h.p. of the I5. This increase satisfied people to the point that the Alphas weren't selling like GM thought they would. I got mine, 2 year lease, $0 down, for $314 a month!

Damn, that's a good deal. We paid more for our '08 H3 Lux. But we also bought in early Jan of '08, like right before Hummer values tanked.

My 39 month lease is up next year and negotiating with GMAC is like talking to a 5 year old. I have been trying to deal with them for a few months now to trade up to an Alpha or adventure and they will not negotiate the residual left AT ALL, not one penny. At this point I will probably just buy it at the value it is at .
