For future reference to other members, a front wheel bearing made by AC Delco can easily be found on line delivered for $400.00 or less, and it is about a 2+ hour job with hand tools. With a bit of experience and air tools, just over 1 hour. Difficulty level is about a 5 out of 10. Just an FYI.

 

The dealer charged 185.00 labor and 465.00 for the part...

 

My truck is doing the same. Why is it so expensive? You said the noise was coming from the driver side but it was actually the passenger side bearing?

 

Okay I see why it is so spendy now. How can I tell if bearing is bad? Try to wiggle the wheels?
