key and fob

The key is easy unless it has a chip in it,( which the dealer can tell you if it does) any place that cuts keys can make one. But you have to be careful because they stick them in their little machine now days and will try to tell you they can or can't make it because of the "chip". I know because Lowes tried to tell me they couldn't make mine because it had a chip...it didn't..so Walmart I went! If it has a chip in it, you have to order it from the dealer, or find a locksmith that has the blanks with chips. As far as the fob..REAL PITA!! It has numbers on the back that has to match the original one, which runs approx $60 to $70 from the dealer, THEN..you have to pay an additional $40 to $50 to have the thing programed to your vehicle. I have seen on the net where you can purchase them a bit cheaper and then they send instructions to program them yourself, but I am not sure how or if they work. Good Luck!

I ordered my keys from the local chevy dealer and he cut them there. I think he said 07 and up had chips, mine is a 06. The key FOB I bought two off ebay. It come with programming instructions and worked fine on my 06 do not know about other years, but if not your dealer can program them.
