Default K&N IN THE STOCK BOX?

Hey guys, I know there is a lot of talk here about K&N filters andgetting sensors dirty. Is this with a CAI system only,or does it also happen witha K&Nfilter charger used in the stock air box?

Is there reallygoing to be any gains HP or MPG with using the K&N in the stock box?

How often do the sensors need to be cleaned and is it hard to do?

Thanks for the help....[sm=smiley16.gif]

That's what a friend told me...He said the CAI's make a lot of noise. I don't need any more noise. Did you notice a power or MPG change?

IMO the weakest link in the stock intake is the filter. Once you swap that out for a K&N or similar hi flow washable filter element , then you need to look at replacing the intaketube, couplers andresonator box. I never had a feel of the pants experience with just adding a K&N filter, but I have no problem wuth the idea that you pick up 2-4 HP over stock with such a simple change!

Two screws hold the MAF sensor in place, there is no maintenance schedule increment for cleaning, and if you think you have to, spray the sensor/filament with CRC MAF sensor cleaner. http://www.crcindustries.com/auto/co...=05110&S=Y In my last GMC, I drove over 160,000 miles with a K&N Filter, never cleaned the MAF sensor, not once, no problems.

I have it easy guys....My wife doesn't like driving the Hummer.....She says it's "WEIRD"[:'(]

I guess the hypnosis worked...Worth every dollar. She got it for her OCD of wanting to clean everything all the time, so I told the Doctor to include a few other thoughts, one of which is driving Hummers sucks.....LOL[sm=badbadbad.gif]

LOL LOL.....
