K&N intake kit....me likes!!
so I finally got around to installing the K&N intake kit, I'm impressed!! I've always had a K&N kit on all my cars but never noticed gains like this. I always get gas when the low fuel light comes on and I get $20. Once it gets back down to 3 gallons and the low fuel light comes back on I get another $20...you get the Idea. Every time the light comes on I am around 84-87 miles on my trip odometer. Now with the k&N kit I am consistantly around 101-104 when he light comes on. wahoo...I'm back over 10 MPG!!!!
My impression is "More responsive"...I suppose that means some more power from somewhere..
Chevy..Let me axe you this..
Tonight while I was sitting in line at a drive through in neutral and idling...I noticed that all of a sudden I would get this sort of dips in RPM and or a hesitation, but every so often, it would dip and hesitate then back to normal for a few seconds and do it again and again...It ran fine when I gassed it or stompted it or put it into D...When I got home and put it in Park, same thing again...I went under the hood to see or hear anything strange and I noticed my K&N Air filter had fallen off the neck piece..As soon as I put it back on the rough idle if you will, settled down and idled smoothly as always...I continued to monitor it for a few more minutes and no problems again..I took the air filter back off and the problem reappear slightly, but not as much....
Any Ideas?
I figure it maybe a MAF thing trying to readjust for the more air it's getting or since the filter was off, a turbulence was happening around the MAF and not reading the air flow right.
