Default K&n # e-0773

Does this fit for just a replacement filter? I bought one and cant get it go on. The V wedge shapes that are in the air box that hold the shock filter in place is whats holding the K&N filter from going on. Plus it seems that the diameter of K&N lip and the tube that feeds the throttle body is pretty close to each other but kinda hard to tell since I cant get a stright on look cause those dam wedges. Anybody with some insight would be great, thanks.

By the way this is on an 06 3.5l, so it has a rounded type filter. Another question, what year did they start using a flat filter in the H3?

I think I know what you're talking about. Those supports are kind of in the way, but it will fit. I used that same filter in my 05 Colorado and my 07 H3. I have a filter and filter box sitting my garage so I just went and looked. Be sure the clamp on the K&N is loose. I think the key is to twist it, like you were screwing it on. It went on pretty easily actually. I had to use some force I guess. Once on, it does not sit on the support. It's held in place by the clamp only. Not sure how much help that was, but I got some typing practice in.

The cylindrical filters are on the 06-07. 08 and up have that flat filter, I think.

OK, I know what you are saying. I tried it at differnet angles but never twisting it on, that should get it. Did your factory filter have a hose clamp? Pretty S*&^ty design not to have a clamp. Without those wedges it would just slide right off. I'll give it another try in the morning and let you know how it plays out. Thanks!
