Default K&N air filter H3

Would I see a difference installing a K&N air filter on my 2007 H3? Power, gas mileage??

for a hummer owner, a k&n is almost worthless

you'll never be in the range where you'll notice the few extra horsepower. Just get the filter that will keep out the most dirt, save your engine.

Unless you want it just for the sticker, then absolutely spend the extra $50

I would just get an airdoc closed box intake then find a nice autozone filter to strap on

I just installed the K&N filter on mine, not the whole system (just the filter $50). Flushed the coolant an d dida new oil change with Mobil 1 and M1 filter. Purrs like a kitty now. I will be in the desert all next week and wanted to be ready for the dust and heat, it's supposed to be like 114-120..too hot!

You got a dry filter right? Not a oil-filter?

Get yourself an airdoc also and watch your power/mileage increase.

K&N makes a dry filter? I installed an oiled one. I have used them on all my 4x4's and never had any issues, just better gas milage and power. Is there a problem with the K&N oiled air filters and H3's?

I'm in the desert on a major job walk with the government and have off roaded 100 miles, and have at least 100 left to go. This excursion has been major dust and extreme terrain, 110 degrees outside, DuraTrac's working well. No issues she's running great.

Good to hear of the duratracs!

As far as an oiled filter, typically you dont want an oil filter when offroading; especially in dusty conditions. They tend to gum up much quicker and easier.

You can't measure any improvement on a dyno unles you compare a dirty stock paper filter with a dirty K&N, the dirty K&Ns outflow dirt paper.

I use K&Ns in EVERYTHING, even the boat.

An excellent dry alternative to oiled gauze is the AFE Pro Dry S, they are washable synthetic, we've been testing them with new intakes for a while.
