We have a trail just down the street that is just nice to ride around for an hour or so. We like to go there because the views are really nice. It gets muddy and there's a couple spots that are a little trying, but just a fun relaxing time. Took some pics as we were out there just starting out.

We just passed 143,000 and still looks and runs like new. We love it and drive it every day.

Blackwalls (white lettering in ? ) on the road but white letters out on the spare ?

That would bother me to no end. I would have that spare changed in a minute.

Looks great otherwise (except I hate nerf steps).

I know I know. I bought the spare a month or so after I had bought the other 4 tires. I had a place mount it. I left without even looking at it. When I got home I immediately noticed it was put on backwards. It was my fault because I should have said, but they should have known too since all four of the others were the other way. Anyways, I've been lazy about it, I know. I have to get it switched. Nerf bars have to stay. My fiancee has rhuematoid arthritis and has a lot of trouble climbing. So unfortunately they stay. We don't wheel except for light trails in the hummer. So no worries there. I hate them too, but kind of stuck with them.

 

Hafta' say I too noticed the white letters like a turd in a punchbowl the minute I clicked on this thread!! The mismatched tread pattern is maddening enough!

Now quit being a cheapskate and get that tire flipped asap!! lol

Just bustin your chops. I just put 305's on mine the other day and they only had 4, so I'm running the skinny undersized spare until I get back to the shop to buy the 5th tire!

Hey, at least his spares' rim matches the rest. I can't stand the guys who have 4 rims on the ground that don't match the spare. Having an MT/R Kevlar spare and MT/Rs on the ground isn't that big a deal to me as long as it is the same size as the rest. Which it looks like it is.

Not a fan of white letters out but if someone is going to do it then do them all.

Thanks, yep, I was ticked when I got home and saw what they did. My fault though. Should have paid attention. We like the black out on all our vehicles. I didn't know that the MTR's had changed design. I found a great deal on the original 4 that are on our rig from a local tire shop. They only had 4. Then when I went to buy the 5th one a month later I found out that I couldn't get the ones I had on so I bought the kevlar one.

I have to say that I am very unhappy with the center caps. The one on the spare is rusted and the other ones are pitting. We keep our rig spotless. We were talking about it yesterday to just sand them down and paint them black. I don't know how that will look, but I hate rust, and they should not be rusting. Our original chrome hummer wheels were rusting and pitting also. And the previous owner was just as meticulous as we are with our h3. I am very dissappointed with how things are chromed.

 

the rig looks great man, except for the chrome still on there. I had to get rid of the "chrome" on mine, couldnt stand it. But then again i prefer the white lettering to be on the outside..to each his own i guess.
I know what you mean about keeping the side steps. i have psoriatic arthirtis and those steps are a big help. Had them off once so i could paint over the chrome and boy did i miss them.

 

An option for the caps is to have them stripped and powder coated 'chrome'. Not quite as shiny as the real thing, but it will not pit or rust.

 

I hate chrome on H3's anyway. I'm going to do something with the caps this summer. Since the nerf bars have to stay I'll probably black them out too.

Yes Rheumatoid and psoriatic are horrible diseases. Debilitating. She's only 39 and has had it since she was 12. Her boy who is 14 also has it. She does everything any person does though. I don't know how she does it.
