Just got it and have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help out with. I also posted this in the SUT section but some issues I'm sure these issues are also on the SUV trucks too.

1- Tonneau cover - I have a key for it and see a **** next to the lock, can you tell me if just turning the key locks the cover? What does the **** do? I tried turning the key but cover did not lock.


2- The folding mirrors work thank god unlike my older H2 but in this truck you can adjust the mirrors itself left and right but both do not move up and down. Is this a bad switch? I'm assuming its something that controls both mirrors.


3- Truck has 46k miles. I have to use double sided tape to tighten the chrome gas cover, replace drivers side sun visor mirror (plastic cover broken), re-adjust the rubber molding surrounding one rear cab light. Then will powder coat the rockers and undercoat truck.


Drives very well. I will post pics over weekend.

I rarely see 08s/09s SUTs. I'm looking forward to the pics. I guess the color is a secret, but just let the anticipation build.

2. Sounds like it need a new window switch. Looks like it's model AC Delco 20835553
From what I've read just briefly searching, you have to program these with the VIN (I'm kind of in WTF mode about that right now. Just read the reviews here... 3. Doesn't sound like it's in too bad of a condition. People seem to abuse hummer interiors for some reason.

How are you liking all the extra power & 2 more gears?

 

I replaced the mirror motor on the drivers side for non-movement, but it wouldn't move in any direction, gimbles were stripped. Guess a PO used the gorilla adjustment method...

Agree about the switch, tho.

 

It's a big diff bet the 08-09 vs the other years. The trans make the difference. I love it. I don't think it's the window switch because when I try to move the mirrors you can hear the motor trying to move the mirror. Bi think both mirrors needs to be replaced. If you think changing the switch is worth a shot I will give a try. Now I'm getting check tire monitoring system icon flashing on DIC. All tires have about 65 psi. I will have to research this one. Thanks for your input it's very much appreciated. I will post pics tonight.

 

How difficult was it to replace the motors? You agree on the switch meaning it's not the switch?

 

So the issues I have found out so far: needs an alternator, cruise doesn't work but light is on on the cruise button on steering wheel, and side view mirrors fold fine but the driver side mirror itself does not move at all electronically and the passenger side mirror only moves sideways.

 

Well, it sounds like the signal is getting to the mirrors. I'd start there.

Does the DIC show the PSI for each tire? It's in the 2nd menu (2nd button from the top to the right of the steering wheel). If it's not showing PSI, you most likely need a new set of sensors. You could try to reprogram them first. I can dig up a link if you can't find how.

What size wheels & tires are those?

The DIC doesn't show the psi. They are blank. I think the dealer forgot to move the sensors from old tires to the new tires. I will get them done next Saturday. I just ordered an AC Delco alternator. I found the mirror motors online for $74 each not bad but have to find someone who can install them because if I try it I'm sure I will end up needing new mirrors. I'm going to see if dealer will pay for the motors or new mirrors if needed.

The tires are 35x12.50x20.

I figured out the locking of cover and double sided tape to the gas cover so 2 things down. Alternator will go in during week, tpms on Saturday and mirrors soon, have to decide if I'm getting motors or new mirrors.

 

PO had aftermarket wheels on mine but I was able to get the dealer to find some OEM rims for it. Had the DIC about tire pressure, bought 4 sensors off ebay and now the TPMS works fine.
