Default 'jingling sounds from engine compartment

Here's my problem..
I can be sat still or driving along and i'm getting this type of jingling sound. While sitting still I have to raise the revs a little then the noise starts. Or, while driving you can constantly hear it. It almost sounds like a severe case of pre-ignition but it's not. Had water pump changed last week as it had a small weep and was kinda hoping it was that but no such luck. Went to a mechanic today and he got the stethoscope out and said it was the serpentine belt. I changed both the belts tonight but the noise is still there. Admittedly, it's not as bad for some reason but it is still there.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

If he thinks it is in the pulley system.... check the tensioners (2ea) and the idler....

ALSO.... check the heat shields on the manifolds.... they rattle like hell when it gets old...

finally... make sure your exhaust is not hitting the UCP..

The easy way would be to take your belt off and try to rattle the pulley around.... see if it has axial movement... or radial movement.... and see if it spins freely. They, especially the bottom one for the A/C get gunked up pretty easy...

and now that I thought about it a little bit... it could also be your A/C pump... they get pretty loud...

The first and only time I heard a rattle like that on mine was when I left a 7/16 socket sitting under the hood between the weather stripping and the cowl.

Maybe your mechanic dropped a tool.

I guess it ended up being the belt. After my last post it just got quieter and quieter till now i don't even hear it.
Thanks for your replies !
