I have been looking at the Personal Audio Link (PAL) for my H3 to hook up my iPhone, i have also been looking at an iPod interface from icarkits.com for $80 less, which one do you think i should buy?

 

Peripheral iSimple Media Gateway for GM5 sounds good on that site, which would be the only thing good for the H3, but by the sounds of it you're gonna end up having a cable running out and just laying there, running out from one of the unused holes in front of the gear lever. would be nice to find something that is just an input for that hole. so you just plug your ipod in there and take out the cable when you want. but yeah that ones the best.

 

Just bought it yestersday. shipped from san diego, im in atlanta. itll be awhile.
im still wondering how im gonna install it though.

Just installed it yesterday. took about 10 minutes. but when i put it back together my radio was cockeyed inward, and my radio trim panel is refusing to connect completely. im bringing it to the dealer this week, should take around 10 mins. but in other words it was a success.

 

Sounds good! I'm going to call my dealer Monday to see when they'll have them.

 

Well I called my dealer today and they hadn't heard about this yet. Luckily hummerguy.net had the part number so he found it and ordered it for me which will take a week. Then he has to send it to someone to take a look at to see what installation would be for it so it may be awhile. If anyone else tries their dealer and gets better info, let me know.

 

I had an Ipod cable installed in my Nav/Radio Unit on my H3. The guys ran it connected to my XM, and the cable came in through the armrest. It works great.

 

What info do they need?

 

Well once I gave him the part # and he found out what I was talking about, he had no clue what the installation cost would be so he was sending it out to someone who would let the dealer know how hard it would be, which made no sense to me but whatever. He told me to call after a week or so if I didn't hear from him (which I haven't). I was planning to call this week since I got a little distracted looking for new head and foglights, a louder horn and lights for the predator bg I'm waiting on. I'll call tomorrow and post the update.
