Intermediate Shaft - DIY
Hi Guys,
My car:
Hummer H3 2008, adventure
The company just told me after a service the steering intermediate shaft is making some noise only while turning which i have noticed or not i am not sure.
They are charging me a bomb to do this, can this be done by myself? Can it just be greased?
any links of DIY?
thanks guys!

You can of course do that job yourself, there is a post with basically step by step somewhere if you search for it.
However, the TSB regarding the intermediate steering shaft did not apply to 2008s so I would be more concerned about getting a stroke job from the place that is telling you your truck needs work? That is not to say a 2008 would never need a ISS replacement, but seems fishy to me.

My car stopped due to a gear shift cable so it was sent to the company. they replaced and mentioned a sound while turning on my car. They said it was the steering intermediate shaft, and nothing to worry about, it is safe to drive.
when i said company i meant the dealer sorry.
do its the dealer who mentioned this.
what do you think?
