Default Instructions for removing gauge cluster?

Does anyone have link for instructions to removing the gauge cluster on an 08+ H2? My recent purchase includes what appears to be a very odd looking gauge overlay that I find irritating and I would like to remove it.

I've searched the forum and the other H2 forum you can no longer register for and cannot find and DIY or instructions describing how to do this. Can anyone help here?

03-07 I could help you out. I don't recall seeing any threads of the 08/09 guys messing with the cluster. I'm sure someone has though, hopefully they chime in soon for you.

Thanks. I found a bunch of links to 03-07 DIY's but nothing on 08+. I did find a few links on Google but when I went down those paths they were spam. All the 08 HW is hidden behind paneling and I don't know where I can tug and where I can't. As difficult as parts are becoming to find I can't afford to break something.

Like you said hopefully the right person see's this and chimes in.

I have the 09 service manual. Bear with me when I have the time to pull it out & I'll snap some pics of the removal & installation guide.

I haven't done this yet, so I don't have any advice.

That would be awesome!! I'll even take some pictures of the gauge cluster coming out so if anyone else ever asks they might be able to find the thread and the answers they need.

The instructions in the service manual sometimes suck. These fall into the category of suck.

I hope this helps. I shrunk the pics down from 16mp so they'd fit on the page. I can "blow them up" if need be.

Beyond that, I believe most install videos for Escalades & 2500s/3500s apply for removing the actual gauge itself.

That looks remarkably easy. Aside from a couple screws it's just clips. I'll give it a shot tomorrow after work if I have a couple of minutes.

As the manual indicates the gauge cluster really couldn't be much easier to remove in an 08+ H2.

Remove the two screws at the top the tug the black plastic surround straight out at the bottom and rotate out around the steering column to left.

Then tug on gauge beauty panel straight out starting with the clips on the bottom. Work your way to the top clips then pull the panel out over the steering column.

At this point you have access to the gauge cluster. It's held on by four screws. I think they were 8MM. Remove each screw and the gauge cluster comes out. There is one connector in back that has to be undone before the cluster can be removed from the dash.

Here is what I ended up with. Can anyone confirm if this is an aftermarket gauge overlay? There is nothing beneath it.
