Default Installing GM Chrome Fuel Door

This questions might be for one of the guys that were here in the begining when there was only a few of us around. There was a post somewhere with a link to instructions on how to install the factory chrome fuel door, there was pictures of each step and so forth. It was very helpful, I think that person also posted similar instructions to other parts. Does anyone remember that link ? or perhaps can link the post on the forum which included that info? I am trying to install it and prefer to check out the pictures as the instructions are of not much help to me in some cases, i simply dont know what they are talking about I am not big on car part vocabulary. And even if I did I would like to see before doing it.

We have this feature built right into the banner up top known asSEARCH. It truley is amazing for finding things!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If only we would use it before lighting up a post asking essentially that someone else do the search??????????[8D]

tried the search, but first u need to know what exactly to search for, if you dont like to be helpful or read useless posts why bother answering at all ?

to those who installed the Chrome fuel door, did it fit perfectly like they say it should ? mine fits perfect on the bottom and right side (looking straigng at it ) but on the left side (towards front of car) and top side, it has a visible space between the door seal and fender. Anyone else had this problem ? I tried banging and forcing it in but it just goes back to its place every time. Its not bad but its not perfect either like the other two sides.

There was a gap on the left side of mine when I installed it, but I used an angled needle nose pliers through the holes on the inside to tighten it up. No gap now.

You know, that search feature is tricky!! I searched "installing GM chromefuel door" and came up with the same forum thread I posted when I pointed out the amazing search feature????????? https://www.hummerforums.com/m_76869/tm.htm So you don't need to know exactly what to search for, just search whatever the heck you think you want to name your post!! Yep, I don't want to be helpful. [:'(][sm=headbang.gif]

Hmmmm that might help my problem too, but I tried picturing how and what for you used to those needle nose pliers and I am drawing a blank. Even if I had them, I would still have no idea what to used them on exactly any additional info u can give to help me understand ? Fact is I already installed the plugs so I am not sure I would be able to do it anyhow. From what I can notice, I think its the inside plastic, the one u insert first into the spaces, that might be causing the problem, it simply will not go in all the way where the plugs are. There is a tiny space there popped up, but I also do not see in what way it would prohibit the seal to go in all the way to the fender body........
