Default Installing an aftermarket headunit...

I am looking into aftermarket headunits for a possible Christmas gift for my wife's H3. Is the metra 71-2003-1 dash harness all i need? It's an 06 with the standard system. Crutchfield shows they have nothing as far as harnesses for the H3. Thanks in advance

I was just on crutchfield and they showed this 120GMOS01 as the wire harness. I too have just the basic radio.

got it installed and everything works perfect except the dvd player. I have to figure out how to wire the parking brake wire so it will play.

Strip it, throw a terminal on it, and ground it. All the parking brake wire does is get grounded to let the head unit know its "parked".

If you get in an accident and kill someone a prosecutor may use your grounded head unit as proof of negligence even if you weren't watching it. It has been known to happen.
