Installed Monroe Reflex shocks
A little late on this, but a couple months ago I installed some Monroe Reflex monotubes on the H3 @ 104k. The front shocks that were on the H3 were the wrong size, they were about 3" longer than oem size and were a PITA to get out. The Monroes fit right in and I added a 1/2" jam nut to the stem ala Hunner trick. The ride is firmer along with having had the H3 front lifted 1" by adjusting torsion bars. Rockauto.com has these at a very good price. I got all 4 for around $200 shipped and I have a $30 rebate from Monroe coming.
If you are on a budget and need some good shocks, these are pretty good so far. I have about 2k miles on them
Rear:
Compressed Length 15.375"
Extended Length 24"
Travel 8.625"
Front:
Compressed Length 11.125"
Extended Length 15.375"
Travel 4.25"

I just installed them... well before a 1800 mile road trip. My H3 is stock height without the torsion bars adjusted. the ride was nice, not to firm and very comfortable on the hwy- especially some of the crappy BFN roads in FL.
