Not yet but there will be. The dealers are going to have to clear out all of the 07 stock before you start to see real deals on the 08 model. Sounds like you might be eligible for the "lemon law" special. Start talking like an attorney to them and see if they don't sweeten the deal.

 

Get the Alpha because when you go to get rid of it you'll have a better resale value.

They should put you in an equivalent 08 at no extra $. The AZ lemon law is pretty good, I doubt you'd have to flex too much muscle with the issues you have. Turn by Turn is cool but remember you have to pay for OnStar to have it ($200 after first year) and then another $100 to have turn by turn. I'd either go with built in nav or the turn by turn and not an add-on nav -- that's bait for break-ins. If you are planning on keeping Onstar past 1 year, go turn by turn. If you don't want onstar, go nav.

I think you answered your own question - you don't want the luxury stuff so you can't get the Alpha. I doubt they'd throw in the thousands extra an Alpha costs over what yours originally cost.

And if you have an earlier 07 you'll find the window switches moved up on the 08 (and the 2007.5), a nice touch. I don't think too much else changed.

I don't care about the leather, chrome wheels, etc either but the H3 Alpha is a blast. It isn't that hard putting up with the leather and heated seats when you are out in the dirt and it makes the wife happy too. The Alpha might be worth your truck and a few extra bucks.

 

actually they made the alpha price difference negligible... it was the '08 finance charges that jacked up my monthly pymnt. Currently I'm in a 0% GM finance plan on my 07 --- GM isn't offering 0% finance plan on the '08 model year, base or alpha model. Do you know a way to transfer my current 0% interest plan to the new 08 payments? thanks for the nav advice

 

If I understand it all.... it's worth the extra percentage cash just to have a ride that is one year newer when you sell it.

I don't pretend to know all of the issues here... nor do I pretend how you may or may not have been treated... but the dealership didn't produce your H3... it rolled down the same tracks as the next one you get...

I seem to think the dealership is trying to do you right... and you could return the favor by remaining patient and also purchasing the alpha... I think when it is all said and done... you will be money ahead...
