I'm comin' for you shorty
Well, not literally.
What area did you say you lived again? I think it was Sacremento. I'm in the very EARLY stages of planning our next road trip, but I'd really like to go off-roading over there. I just thought, ya know, since we'd be in the area (well maybe not).
Granted, this will not happen til later on this fall, or even next year. It gives us goals to save up for our camper. That's primarily why I'm thinking about it now.
Do any of the rest of you live in the western part of the country? HummerGuy may be coming to YOUR home
You KNOW I'll have an entire video library of this trip lol. We're planning on taking 2 full weeks this time around.

yes, i'm in Sacramento. hopefully by the time you show up there will still at least be some forest service trails open - El Dorado county has been putting up gates, and locking them, on lots of trails. but we'll find something - although if it's in the fall, there won't be much, if any, mud in this part of the state.
So they are doing it because of environmental problems, ie: the mud? They aren't doing it because a group of conservationists are chanting that we are destroying the forests with our Hummers?
actually, i got stopped by a county sheriff as i was coming off one of the trails, coated with mud so heavy i had to stop to wash off my side view mirrors. he didn't give me a ticket, but said that the Forest Service was handing them out, starting at $1500, for tearing up the logging roads. the only time i've found those trails open since then was during deer season. i think a mix of the logging companies complaining and no money for the NFS combined to close them down.
