Last time my kid said no he got his @ss whooped...it has worked for 15 years

 

That was pretty good. I hit the very end of that range but no one told my father. I swear he would still smack the **** out of me if I steped out of line. The real sad thing is the kids that I work with (who aren't much younger than I am, mid-80's now) expect everything because they "went to college" and don't know what working thru the ranks mean or pride of work.

 

Going to college does not really mean anything other then you might know a lot about what you are doing and you have a degree, but being raised the right way gives a person the character and determination to go through the ranks to the top

 

I was in college in 1979. I had a bb gun .

Youngsters just want it all right now, got no patience. Too bad it takes them so long to figure out life doesn't work that way, and hard work will get you where you want to be............eventually. Try and find a kid down the street to shovel snow, rake leaves or cut the lawn. [&o]

I think that many of "us" were raised with more "street smarts" or you could just call it common sense. I would rather have street smarts than book smarts any day. Lose your cushy job and have to find a way to live and lets see who makes it.

 

We got our butts whipped sometimes but not that often. Our parents could just give us that look and we knew the boom was about to drop. That is all it took most of the time. Would worked fine with my kids if the ex-wife hadn't been such puss.
