If the Hummer brand discontinues...
How long (if at all) will it be before our trucks become "collectibles". This gas panic is going to far I say. Everything corrects given enough time. So using that logic and the H2's timeless design and current limited quantities, how long before I can sell my H2 for 20k more than I bought it? Not that I'll be selling it.
Don't know but I remember the previous times when people were giving away their muscle cars because they couldn't get gas for them or it was too expensive and now some of those same "give away" cars are bringing anywhere from $250,000.00 - $1,000,000.00 at Barrett-Jackson. Not sure we will ever attain that type of collector status but I think we will get past the current gas scare and things will settle down into a more normal scenario. $2.00 gas...no, reasonably priced gas, yes.
Like many on this forum Im not that concerned about gas prices (wouldnt have bought a Hummer if I was) but I must admit Im really having some concern about the resale value of my 2 month old H3.
On average I only keep a truck about 2 years before selling it off for something newer or just for a change,,, in two years from now whats my trade-in or resale value guna be.
Sorry just venting,,, I just got thru readingyet anotherartical on Yahoo about Hummers not even being made anymore.
Wonder what the future is for the H3T ?????
Cheers

H3T will be here soon. As to trade in or resale values the entire SUV market is in the tank and has been for more than two months Davyo. You knew it was rough out there before you bought this one as evidenced by the trade in you got on your truck. Got to live for today and that includes driving what you enjoy. Unless you are buying vintage Ferrari's, muscle cars, etc your vehicle is not an investment. I drive what I drive because I like it. Enjoy your Hummer for the next two years and see what things are like then.
Collectibles? Yeah right, no one in their right mind would drive a POS Hummer. I can understand those that bought an H1, at least it can go off-road. But the H2 and the poser H3 are worthless. If you bought one of them you deserve to be poor.
In a few years your Hummers will be more valuable as scrap metal to be melted down to make more Toyota Prius.
