I daily drive mine but work is only 4 miles away . I agree that if you can't afford repairs, then you should not buy whatever car you are looking at (Hummer in this case but this applies to any car). Stay with what you can afford, save up and then reward yourself with what you want. The last thing you want is buy it then have a constant fear every time you drive it that it may fail. This will ruin your experience.

 

Most of us who have been around for a long while don't daily drive our H2s anymore, they are mostly garage queens only taken out on the weekends. To daily drive you MUST be willing to be dumping money into it for maintenance and the cost of H2 specific parts (if you can find them) will be enough to put you into bankruptcy. A lot to keep in mind if you are dead set on owning an H2.
