Default I have made my decision.....

Over the past month or so I have been looking at off-road vehicles to figure out which one I would like to purchase. It's not like the list is long if you limit the vehicles to capable off-road machines and my need to hold 5 people and a dog. My list included:
[ul][*]FJ Cruiser[*]Wrangler Unlimited[*]Hummer H3[/ul]
I almost purchased the FJ Cruiser last week, however the dealership experience here in Phoenix is not pleasant, so I gave up. Which is probably a good thing because I added the H3 to the list after deciding not to purchase an FJ.I was under the initial impression that the H3 wasn't going to be a very capable off-roader.Reading the post of this forum and researching the vehicle more has help to change my mind.

So now that I am enlightened, I amlooking to purchase an H3 soon. Now if I could only come up with a way to get a discount I would be set.

As soon as I get my H3 I will post a lot of pictures of it with me and the family exploring hard to reach locations.

Welcome to the Forum. Lots of good deals to be had right now. I too was looking at the FJ but went H3 for a couple reasons. 1) Interior of the FJ looks like it was designed by Fisher Price. 2) With all of the good GM deals right now the H3 worked out to be about $150 a month LESS than the FJ.

I went through almost exactly the same process you did and came to the same conclusion.

You won't regret your decision. The H3 rocks.

To consider the Wrangler and adequately compare it to the 3, you need to go Rubicon or you would be wasting your time. The non Rubi Wrangler has chity axles and not up to the full task. Wonder where I've heard that before, 10+ times.................hum?

Toyotas crack, but are great to haul home rice from the Piggly Wiggly. [:@]

Thanks for the welcome.....

My thought was that the Wrangler Rubicon editon and the H3 with the Adventure Package are similiar, both get the 4:1 low range on the t-case. And they are pretty close in price as well. Sometimes I think that I would like to off-road without the roof, but then I would like to park the vehicle places and have my stuff be secure. So the H3 wins here....

I have heard from friends who own the FJ that it is quite capable, however you can't get a 4:1 t-case from the factory, and I have read about the front frame cracking issue. The FJ can be easily be 4K to 5K less than the H3, however;it is a little cramped on the inside for my family. I have three boys and they are getting bigger every day. So I think that the extra dollars will be well spent in the end....

Again, thanks for the welcome everyone... hope to have my new H3 soon......
