So i was driveing my H3 today and passed the Shell gas station and saw it at $2.90 a gallon and was thinking of the people that sold there hummer's due to the gas price's, so i was thinking any 1 regret selling there h3. i mean i would never sell my Hummer cause it's LIKE NOTHING ELSE. But that's me and no i am not rich at all. Just love Hummer, it was my dream as a little kid when once in a blue moon we saw a H1 alpha driving down the street and i fell in love with a Hummer. So i would never let my H3 go.

Yeah, I know.....All the people who panicked and SOLD.....Gas here WAS $1.59L, now today it's $0.94L!!!! W00T!!!!

I saw no reason to let the gas prices get me to sell mine.
I enjoy driving my H3 more than any of my other 4wheeled vehicles.

In 2001 I was living in Germany and driving a 7 series BMW and gas was 1.20 Euro a Liter approximately $4.80 a gallon. I got back to the states and was releived to see that gas was only between $3-$4 a gallon.

I love my HUMMER more each day..it amazes me that some people still think of the H3 as a gas guzzler..Ignorance should be painful I tell them..anyways, H2's are up for sale all over the place and cheap..But is see themselling off more now too..gas is $1.969/gal for reg here...

Nothing personal, but I am so tired of hearing the HUMMER/gas thing!! I would hope there isn't a soul out therewhodidn't let it cross their mind that driving a HUMMER would be akin topushing a brick down the road in respect toaerodynamics when we bought them!!Anyone who dumped their H-3 thinking theloss in value due to diminished trade in prices, additionalcost of another vehicle registration, not to mention starting a loan over would be recovered in fuel savings by purchasing a tree-hugging Prius deserves to loose their a$$!! If you don't like the ride, trade.But don't blame your indecision on fuel economy!!

 

If not for $4 gas, I probably wouldn't be driving an H3 today. It's funny how so many people believed that THIS run up in oil/gas prices would somehow be different than the dozen or more that we've seen over the past 40+ years since oil and global politics were merged. History made a Hummer a pretty safe buy.

 

I never considered selling my H3 due to gas prices, in fact I have actually considered trading up to an H2.

I do know a few people who considered selling their current vehicle for a more fuel efficient one, and one person who did by a hybrid voted for Bush, so trying to turn this into a political debate is moot.

 

Not my intention at all, at least in the context that it seems that you took it. Sorry if I didn't make my meaning clear. I was talking about global politics. If you'll recall, the 'six day war' in 1967 resulted OPEC's first attempt to wield their new found weapon against supporters of Israel. Grossly oversimplified, they stopped shipping oil to Europe. Curiously, a shortage was averted when the US (yes, the US) simply increased their exports to Europe to fill the gap and keep prices down. OPEC has used this weapon a number of times since then, to varying effect. In virtually every case, the result was an eventual collapse in world oil prices. The late 90's saw $10/bbl oil and gasoline selling for well under $1/gal. There's no reason to believe that this 'crisis' will be any different (though, while not impossible, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for $1 gas)
