Default The Hummer oem offroadlights any good?

Thinking about getting either the roof ones, grill ones or both but just wonder if they are worth it? Since the headlights of the H3 suck in the dark hours of the Swedish winter.

If I go with one of the two options which ones are the best?

I have the tops ones, and they work well. I would suggest a champioship hood stripe if you use them otherwise you get a lot of glare off the hood while using them

You will probably get the same glare or worse from falling snow or fog

The GM roof mounted lights work well and the install is very easy to do. Make sure to check with your local laws as you may need to keep the covers on them while driving on the highway. A pair of light cover does come with the set.

They're not bad (roof mounted light bar). I had them installed, but you'll need to drill holes in your roof for the mounts, and to pass the wiring through - make sure you grease/waterproof the hole to prevent leaks and/or rust.

They work well, very low-profile, makes your vehicle look really smart. If you need to have your light covers on by law, I would suggest to have an additional circuit breaker switch built into your light circuit, before the ON/OFF switch. This prevents the accidental turn-on of the roof-mounted light bar in the day.

I accidentally hit the ON button one day and I didn't know they were on because it was daytime and the light covers melted. I checked with GM, you cannot buy the light covers separately (I restored the covers with black plastic panels since), just so you know.

Nonetheless, still a very sleek-looking light bar.

Default Light bar

I did mine this weekend. I am having a hard time getting the BES / fuse system reinstalled. Anyone know of tips or tricks.

Thanks for the input guys, looks like I will be investing in the roof mounted ones

Skeeter, glare will not be a problem since the hummer I am putting them on is matte gray

I agree with the reflective issue and the melting cap issue...even though your truck won't reflect as much as a yellow or white truck would, in order to get the lights positioned straight forward, there's quite a bit of light that hits the hood - which in some cases - may make visibility a little more difficult.

There was a company called Plus1 or PlusOne (Or maybe Delta? those companies changed hands so much I couldn't keep track) - that used to make a light bar and it solved some of those issues by having it further back on the truck - but they weren't that bright either.

If you need serious light output - you're best off adding some rally-style lights (they come in reasonable sizes, as well as enormous) to your brush guard or grill area.
