I picked up my 07 H3 just over a week ago and was inspecting the top of the roof to see about mounting roof rails. I noticed that there are 2 square pockets or holes towards the front of the roof about center with the front passenger doors. I looked down inside and saw that there is a single screw beneath about 3/4" of water. I can't imagine that this was intentional. Does anyone know what should be there? And if it is a mounting hole for an accessory like the light bar, is there any sort of plug the dealer offers?

You imagined wrong... Oversight or otherwise... That's the way it is...

 

Perhaps this "Feature" was meant to capture drinking water in case get I lost or stuck on a trail?

Has this led to any additional problems such as leaking roofliner?
