Default Hummer h3 thermostate

Anyone using after market thermostats to allow the hummer to run cooler? I been looking for thermostat that open at 180 but couldn’t find anything, anyone knows one or where to buy one?

Not really. There is a thread in the H3 section at the front of the board started by H3Luxembourg. Look at that.

Basically, they are not needed. The T State itself is not going to make your H3 run cooler, and if you knew how and why the temp was set where it is, you would not bother.

All you would accomplish is make it take longer for the correct operating temp range to be reached.

If you have ever scanned your H3 to see what the actual temperature is, as long as it is in the 195-205*F range, you are good to go, that is where it is supposed to be.

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. Its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature (generally about 200 degrees F, 95 degrees C), the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.
