Should I check with it running or key on "ON"? If I dont have a volt meter, can I check for power with a test light? The guy that looked at it didnt check for power down there. He just said that he couldn't communicate with the module via Tech 2.

 

Hey guys, time to conclude this thread with a solution.

I found an old bulletin regarding a similar issue to what I was having. It stated that after you replace the transfer case motor that you should pull both fuses under the hood and driver side of the dashboard. Then reinstall, resetting the four-wheel-drive system. So I went to the part store and ordered yet another transfer case motor, went to my buddies place and installed, reset the four-wheel-drive system, cleared the codes with the tech 2, boom! Problem solved. Now, this could have just been a coincidence but, I believe I also had two brand-new faulty transfer case motors from advance auto parts. Moral of the story if you're going to buy aftermarket parts purchase three of the same part and hope at least one of them works. Third times a charm!

Basically: 2 brand-new Dorman brand faulty transfer case motor's in a row 3rd one worked with resetting the four-wheel-drive system.
