Hummer H2 2005

Good afternoon I have a problem

I Install new oil pump new time chain and I don't have oil pressure inside the engine

oil pressure is created by the crankshaft bearings. if they are worn badly then it can be an issue.but start with the simple things like checking the pickup tube O ring and the oil pressure relief spring.
you can start the video at 2.24 if you find his rambling too loud.

@legerwn how do I prime the engine

bronxteck 06-23-2019 09:18 PM

usually you disable the fuel pump by pulling the relay or fuse and then you crank the motor till you get an oil pressure reading.

You can buy a primer or make one like I did. A pump up sprayer filled with engine oil and connected to the oil galley at the drivers side front of engine. Pull the plug and prime the pump and engine, the pump is dry and usually will not prime on it's own. You can find fittings to screw the sprayer hose to the block or just use a air nozzle with the rubber tip on the sprayer hose and hold it in the galley plug hole and fill it with oil. The hole is at the pump discharge so the pump will fill quicky.

Melling has some good videos on their web site that explains the process.
