i just recently bought a hummer h1 soft top 1995. i am thinking of giving it an engine swap to make it the ultamate towing hummer. so wut is the best diesel engine i can put in my hummer to make it able to tow around 12,000

Predator is doing a cummins conversion now. You don't have to swap your transmission out either.

Save youself the money and buy an 06 alpha it will cost the same in the long run and you will actually be able to get parts and find someone to work on it. Conversions sound like a great idea and I have seen some decent ones but parts never fit and they are very difficult to fix

 

i decided to leave my hummer stock and bought a 2006 3500 dodge ram 5.9 cumminc diesel for towing instead seemed like less money

 

I have 97 H1 hummer disel, the other day I pulled it out of the garage, and when I went to put it back in, It would not start! Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem? Please HELP!!!
