Default Hummer Grill Question

as was mentioned in other posts, I'm interested in buying a used grill to paint Stealth Grey Met, the thing is there appears to be two different ways of attaching them, one has square hooks, the other has round, I put pics on, does anyone know which of the two would fiton an o7 H3, one is white, the other black, but to confuse thingsthe black one has white hooks, while the white one has black hooks, so for clarity we'll refer to the color of the grill, not the hooks, making the question can you tell if the white grill goes on an o7, or if the black grill goes on an 07... thanks

I have no idea which one will fit on an 07. I have an 06 and the black you reference is what is on my vehicle. I am interested in painting my grille as well. I got a quote from one body shop for $200. I can save $17 on the price if I remove the grille. Which is $100 cheaper than buying a new one. Another gave me a quote of a$100 if I have it prepped for paint. I am curious about how yours will turn out. Are you still planninf on the Stealth Gray Met?

Do not know about the clips, but the GM part # is the same 2006 - 2008. Should not be an issue.

After looking at the pics closer, the white grille looks like it is missing part of the clip.

Thanks for all the help, I kinda figured it would be odd to change a clip, but then thought, if they had problems with 06 clips they may have changed them, I do still plan on using the Stealth Grey Met, if it looks terrible I can always color match it to the Boulder grey, anything but chrome.

thanks again for loking, and for the part number info... as always a big help

thanks

The brackets on the grill appear to be the same so if you buy a used grill with different clips just use the ones from your chrome grill.

It wasn't long ago when the kids were saying, "doh!" that is about what someone should be saying to right about now, "Doh" sometimes I wonder why I didn't think of something that should have been so obvious, I could blame it onmy having been a cop for so long, but us guys think too, we really do more than beat a confession out of someone... that was just a joke, in all honesty and I was an interrogator, so I am speaking from experience, you get much more information being good cop than being bad cop, in fact I always worked alone, no need for bad cop...

anyway thanks for the tip, I was going to paint my Chrome grill but someone mentioned it would be a shame to ruin a good chrome grill, aftermarket grills are cheap, used even cheaper until you start loking at chrome grills, so why ruina good one, I could put this one away incase i ever decide to go chrome... naaa I don't see that happening, maybe if I ever sell it, oh well thanks again for the info

As far as the two grills go, at his suggestion, I put an offer of $30.00 in for both of them, (askinghim to except the one that would fit the o7 and declinewhichever won't, he let me know they both would fit and excepted the offeron the White one), the black is still there and he would probably take the same $30.00 just tell him I sent ya, (my ebay user name is Md-Adopt-a-Cop) He takes a little while to answer on his offers, I think he's waiting to see if someone buys it out from under you with his buy it now price of $69.99. His shipping is $44.00. The way I can up with the $30.00 was in a question to him about condition I asked whats the lowest he would take, and he said $30.00, just so you don't think I'm cheap... I am, but even I wouldn't of thought of asking him to take less than half his asking price. Anyway, just thought I post it, it may be better at this price than painting over the chrome
