Default Hummer to Fade Away?

Have been away from this forum for awhile now, so maybe I missed it. Now that China turned down the sale of Hummer. Do you think a corporation or person will pick up the line? I thought maybe AM General being the Humvee is being phased out of the military. It really pisses me off that Government Motors bowed down to the left wing wacko's. If Hummer just fades away I will NEVER buy another GM product.

Hummer will fade away like the old Corvettes, pony Mustangs, Tbirds, muscle cars etc faded away. In other words no it won't. There is a large core group of passionate owners and fans and they will keep Hummer alive whether anyone picks up the line or not.

I know Hummer will remain Iconic, my first was an '06 H3 Adventure my second an '09 H3X and was planning on another in '12. I'm hoping and praying the line is picked up and continued. Thought AM General would take over as they lose the military contract for the Humvee, it's being phased out for the International line.

Even if it fades away, so did the Camaro, mustang and dodge challanger and look where those 3 are today, back in the showroom.

+1 guess i like brands threatened with extinction....my other whip is a lambo & owners are wondering if they'll sell out like porsche did by making a 4 door sedan to stay alive...as for hummer, right now i consider my h2 a collectible.

I agree with that. I just went and bought an H2. I plan on keeping the miles down on it. Not driving it every day.

Lots of great models quit being made and truthfully even if it would started up again i doubt the new Hummers would be made without big concessions to the vehicle to make it more eco-friendly and less off-raod capable, well at least to those misinformed that believe it was an eco-evil vehicle.

Rejoice if you got one in the driveway...WE DO...have fun with it, and keep it maintained. Like so many things in life you will find yourself gravitating toward those of like minds...that is why I wave or nod everytime I see another Hummer on the road and send all i talk to here.

it lives as long as we do...as you can see from one of the new sponsors here, dedicated folks will cater to our needs as long as we keep needing stuff.

Never prouder to be a Hummer owner!!!!!

Yeah I look at it as each of my Hummers is a collectors item now too.

I do think they will be back at some point though.
