I've got mixed feelings over this. I bought my '08 H3 brand new off the dealer lot in September '08 with no problems getting 0% financing. As long as I get what I paid for (on a brand new 2008 H3), a 50,000 mile/5-year-warranty, the news doesn't bother me much. In fact I'll go so far as to say I'd be fine with it. Our (Hummer owner) vehicles will become more unique, more sought-after, and fewer on the road compared to other models.

High demand, low supply. The value of our H3s should increase, right? Nonetheless, I didn't buy my H3 to trade-in nor to resell. I bought it to use it, and because I wanted it. And I still do!

Of course I have an interest in the brand, and would like to see it do well - but again, if I got/get what I paid for (a quality vehicle and service), and am happy with it, what's the harm? Just because this brand might not be selling so well right now does not mean people don't want these vehicles!

^Well said. I hope Hummer does stick around though. I love the feeling I get whenever I pass a Hummer dealership, glance over at it, and then smile knowing I drive a great on/off-road SUV

Besides, who want's to wait in a Chevy dealership while your H3 is being serviced? [sm=smiley21.gif]

I am thinking about buyng an H3, but I just read another article about Hummer being dropped as a brand by GM.
Where would we service our Hummers and have our warranty honored if Hummer goes away?

Any GM dealer would service your GM Hummer. Just like what happened to Oldsmobile.

Wow, some dealers are just seeing the writing on the wall unfortunately. Luckily my dealer still has the showroom intact, however the other one in CT (Crowley) now has a collection of classic cars with torn posters of Hummer in the Hummer showroom. Makes me very upset when I see that place.

GM dealers will still honor your service with your Hummer. A chevy dealer by my house always fixes Hummers.

White08H3,

What Hummer dealer do you use? I bought my 09 H3 last month at Karl Hummer in New Canaan and had a real good experience. I also went to McDermott in East Haven. It seemedlikem they did not want to sell cars.I also went up to Crowley only to find out they didn't sell Hummers any more.

Anyone got an idea what will happen to used H3 values if GM discontinues them? Value goes up because vehicle is rare and there will always be people who want them...............or...............goes down because people are afraid they will not be able to get parts and repairs. Any speculation?

Every year there are many models of automobiles and truck that are discontinued. Think back at all the ones you yourself have known that you now still see on the road.

I suspect the casual HUMMER buyer, the ones that bought the car because it was cool, that is they bought for image, they will go away. On the other hand, the people who bought HUMMER because of its' performance features, they will continue to be a market.

The Dodge Viper and the PT Cruiser are also on the list to be discontinued. People will still want Vipers and probably people won't PT Cruisers.

Maybw I'm missing something but...

Do you really think GM is just going to drop Hummer? It wont happen. If GM decides not to keep the Hummer line, they will sell it, and someone will buy it.

In a time when GM publically admits that it needs money from the government, it's not going to just completely "delete" the Hummer Brand, they will sell it to Marinda & Marinda or Chengfeng or something for obviously a large amount of money.

Won't they?

Sure it's a hard brand to sell but I'm sure it's worth hundreds of millions, and I'm sure GM wants that money!

This is GREAT news! I hate the PT cruiser! It's just an egg mashed with a hearse! Ugly!
