Default Hummer 4 years old

I had my Hummer 4 years now. My warranty expires next month. Im a little worried about that. I had the dealer fix drive shaft, ball joints and steering linkage all under warranty. I sure hope I don't continue to have trouble with the H3T.

On another note its time to freshen it up. I just ordered 4 new 313/75/16 Duratracs to the replace old ones. Plan on getting it detailed to get buff marks and light scratches out. I am trying to find a decent bed cover for good price and some rock guards. What else can I do on a budget to make my truck look new and different?

You've got a month to extend your warranty, for a semi reasonable price direct from GM rather than through a dealer.

I contacted GM and they informed me that I must get the extended warranty through a dealer. They said to get the GM Protection Plan. I rather not deal with a dealer, but I will go see what a 2 or 3 year warranty will cost.

My warranty expires next week. Went to Dealer and asked for a extended GM Protection plan. They offered me whats called Major Guard. Three years or 2400 miles is $2565.20 I was like WOW! that is a lot of money for an extended warranty that doesn't even cover trim.

Anyone here get an extended warranty? What did you pay so I can compare? Any issues getting service with it? My gut and family tell me to not get it and save the money for when I do need a repair. It is nice to have peace of mind.

I bit the bullet and ordered the extended warranty direct from GMPP for my 2009 H3T.

Major Guard for 4 years and 40,000 miles was $2568.

Pretty much the same price I paid through a dealer when I got it on my H3 last year, but I liked not having to deal with a dealer.

How did you buy direct from GM? I called the GM direct and was told I had to purchase warranty through a dealer. I did not bother getting it. Dirtbag at dealer tried to bull**** me by steering me to some other brand warranty then went on to say they only offered Major Guard when I called him on it. He acted like he never heard of basic and value guard.I hate dealing with people that are just out to make a buck at any costs.

Go to gmppdirect.com, enter your vin, zip code and mileage and pick the coverage you want.

As long as your original warranty is still good, you can get the extended warranty online.

I wish I knew about this website last week before my warranty expired. Both the GM folks and the dealer made it seem like I had no other option but to go through a dealer. Amazing.
