Default How water tight are our h3's?

If I'm going fording some creeks etc.. how water tight are these vehicles? I know that "if you dont stop, you dont take on water" generally, but how well do THESE vehicles do in a move and at a stop?

Matt

Extended soaking will let water in the cabin... Ive been in water for brief moments over my hood and still been fine... but once the water gets in the engine forget about it... your done for... Even when Im sitting in water about 1/4 up the door I have been lucky to not have water come in...

So you were fording water over the hood, or you went into deep water that splashed over the hood?

These trucks forge 24" of water stock, coming directly from HUMMER.. but people have gone 31" at 5mph bone stock without out issues.

fording water for approx 500-1000ft...

Its at a local wheelin spot and its a small brook that connects a river to an estuary the only way in an out is the that brook, water flows over the hood depending on the spot it has gone up the windshield about 1-2... and I have 315/75R16s w/ a leveled front end... so yeah its deep

It does suck in air from the fender which is also connected to the passenger side air vent (by the winshield) what type of wheelin are you planning on doing?

I'll be doing mostly mud/trails/river-stream crossings. For the most part.

We had some really bad flooding last spring and all the roads around my neighborhood were flooded. Needed to go get more beer and picked the least of the scary ones and tried it. I was creeping through it till it got 1/2 way up the doors and I didn't even notice the slight current till I started moving sideways. I got on it a little more and water came over the hood and splashed 1/2 way up my windshield before I started out of it. Wife and Daughter were extremely p.o.ed! Didn't stop raisin hell till I got to the beer store!!! Didn't let them know, but scart me pretty good too.
