I recently purchase the oem hard plastic tactical spare tire cover, for my 07 H3 tactical edition. When I opened the box it was the proper cover, but it was the hard plastic shell only, with no vinyl elastic band to wrap around the back of the tire. Can anyone who may have owned this tactical tire cover before please let me know what is suppose to hold the hard cover on the tire ? Or if their is another piece or part that's should have been in the box, or that I need to order ? Thanks for your time, Bo.

 

If it is a true GM Tactical cover, slide it on and zip the zipper.

 

Obviously you have no clue what the tactical tire cover is or looks like, and you didn't read my entire question. It is a GM part with two part numbers 15817542 and 24300245. The GM diagram does not show the details that this cover is missing, I just received the outer hard shell/cover, no band with zipper or elastic to grip the tire.

 

I know exactly what a Tactical Cover is. The zipper part I am talking about is sewn into the back lip of the semi hard shell, it is not a separate part..... over time they often failed and the zipper part ripped off.


I read your post and responded because there are several knock offs out there trying to be passed off (knowingly or unknowingly) as the real McCoy.

ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE HARD COVER STYLE THAT COMES STOCK ON H3X? if SO IT MOUNTS ON THE CENTER OF THE DOOR WHERE THE AIR FLAPS FUNCTION WHEN YOU CLOSE A DOOR WITH ALL WINDOWS UP.
