I know this is a very elementary question,but i am trying to remove the glove box and when i usually do something like this i get cracked plastic and a mess. There doesn't seem to be anything other than a nylon string holding it ,but is there a trick for getting it out.

 

more importantly, why are you removing it?

 

There are stops on each side of the box. Disconnect the string (just slides out of the slot), then press in the box sides to clear those stops and it will swing all the way down. Takes a bit of pressure to clear the stops, but it will go.

Don't forget to remove the 4 screws at the bottom of the glove box before you release the side taps.....

 

the sirius box is back there and i need the radio number- It doesnt come up when i tune to zero-
