If you are looking to go with the Hummers external spare tire carrier, then they have the one that bolts onto your rear bumper. It also comes with the license plate holder and wire. The tow rings are also incorporated into the carrier as well. There are pics of them on the net.

Yes you do need a spare... The minute you decide not to have one is when you will need it.. If you dont mind paying to have it towed, taxi, and the inconvenience then by all means, dont have one... Keep your spare.. Buy a external tire mount, or a roof rack if you dont have enough space...

I would estimate shipping costs to be between $150 & $200 to your state, still cheaper than the grand ! Maybe you will be fortunate enough to find someone local willing to give up theirs.

Dude---you're in Az. There are parts EVERYWHERE in Phx, Tuscon, Flag plus lots of HUMMER owners that can help you source it out. Craigslist is your friend, you'll find one cheap enough. I've seen the tire carriers down to $250-$300. You can do it!

I dont need the tire carrier, Chesh97 does. I was only trying to help him find one. I have converted mine from the external one to a internal one.

Default Spare tire

I'm on my second H2 and have never carried my spare. The 3rd seat's have also been removed and never used. I, also carry a plug kit in case I pick up something. Watch, now that we have started this I will get one. Good luck to all.

why not go the gobi route? mount that bitch on the roof...add the road side coverage on your insurance for the extra $3-6/month. If you get a flat, call for your assistance. Tell'em they better bring a boom truck to get the tire on/off your roof. Stock tire size isn't too bad to muscle around. If your running oversized wheel/tires need to make sure you dont bust a nut picking them damn things up.

There's probably 20 gobi racks/month nation wide fors sale on craigslist. Good used price will run from $500-800. I scored a brand new full rack w/ lights for $600. freightquote.com ships cheap...$120 to ship my rack across the us.

You're saying you're finding H2 Gobi's on Craigslist? I need to learn your surfing ways because I've been wanting to start a post asking where all the used Gobi's go.
I've only found a few that other members have posted up for sale, and it's been quite a while since I've seen any. What gives?

I have an aftermarket spare tire carrier, w/ lic. plate relocation kit and o.e. PAINTED spare tire cover in the "WHEAT" color for sale, will take 300 for the whole shebang. I can't use it anymore while pulling my trailer, by hitch isnt long enough to tow with the electric trailer jack on the trailer. I live in N. hollywood ca. joshcoronado@rocketmail.com is my email if you are in the area and want to take a look. It doesnt rattle at all and uses your stock tow hitch bolt to install. the lic. plate lamp took me a while to figure out but I made a harness for it.
