Gas will stay about where it's at, or fall lower, simply due to falling demand.
As far as Hummer sales, read this: http://www.hummerguy.net/index.php?s...&submit=Search
It pretty much the same for GM, "sales outside the US are up", why? Less regulation! Looks to me like Hummer is doing pretty well..outside the US. Sure they'll find a buyer...outside the US though.

My dealer said they sold 17 last month. He seems to be upbeat about it.

Hummer sales dropped by 50% but a number of dealers in SoCal say sales have picked up some recently. No surprise to me but Prius sales are way down out here also. Guess even the enviro wondercar sales are getting crushed in this economy. To answer your other question GM dealerships would service the Hummer if the brand went away.

Gasoline prices are already creeping up as Oil Futures contracts are higher for the coming months...and retailers are already hedging their bets...
Oil is forecast to trade in the $40-$55 a barrel range this year, but next year is forecast to hit $75, and the year after even higher, as the economys rebound causing more demand, and also all the record OPEC cuts, that their members are actually doing this time as opposed to just saying they are...also Russia is cutting, adn Iran's missiles, nukes, and now a satelite, as well as the Israeli/Hamas/Iran/Hezbolla conflict will pressure prices up...
Enjoy it while you can....

Sorry. Just wonderin' is all.
It was the Clinton Administration that pushed for sub prime lending, so that the poor and minorities could have a better chance of owning a house....
Guess which demographic groups had the most foreclosures due to having the most sub prime loans?

Yep, take the credit for giving these poor folks loans to buy houses they cannot afford to buy and should not buy, and then look the other way when the fingers start pointing....BILL!

Just remember..."short cuts maek for long delays"....

Of course, all the banks using their bailout money for things it was not intended for, and in stead of loosening credit, have tightened...where is OUR bail out?
The tax payers who are paying the Wall Street bonuses, Citi banks new Corporate Jet, Bonuses and refurbished offices at Merrill Lynch and Bank of AMerica, adn NOW Wells Fargo Las Vegas trips for executives!
No wonder the typical american has stopped spending!
Its disgusting how the banks belly ached for money...crying that unless we bailed them out they would fail and its the great depression all over again...but then when they get this money they use it for "OTHER" things!
Thank god Obama grew a brain and is denying the remaining $350 billion from the blood sucking banks and giving it to bail out mortgages and homeowners...I HOPE....HE MEANS IT...

Hummer: General Motors President and Chief Operating Officer Fritz Henderson has said that the sale of the Hummer brand is on an "urgent basis." He made the statement in India possibly to stir up some interest, though Mahindra has officially denied having any.

When he was in China, Henderson pitched some additional prospective buyers there as well. "If any Chinese companies are interested in buying Hummer, it will be certainly an option for us to look at," he said. "We need to be open to all ideas."

If Henderson has been to Russia, his remarks didn't become public but Russian automakers have also been rumored as Hummer buyers - at least until oil prices tanked and the Russian economy cratered.

Please GM, don't water down the name with "Made in China"...argh! Tired of seeing/buying their junk all the time (no choice)

Better to just let it fade away at that point, imo

Presumably, they would still be built in the US. I suspect that Hummer's customer base would not look favorably on a Chinese built truck. I also suspect that the UAW would not be in the picture.

Just watched GM's press conference. It seems Hummer's fate will be clear soon but it will not involve GM.

"GM expects to make a decision to sell or phase out the Hummer brand by Mar. 31, with a final resolution expected no later than 2010."

Well, I'm certain we wouldn't have this mess if it hadn't been for the democrats blocking attempts to lower fuel prices last May, June, July. High fuel prices brought consumer confidence and sales down. From there it was a chain reaction. Now, America elected one as president.

Sadly, things are not looking too good for Hummer. I hope it lives on.
