Did they ever put a hood insulator on the H3? Has anyone ever put one on?
I put one on a pickup I had and it made a big difference on keeping the engine sound down. Definitely made it quieter inside the cab.
I'm working on making it a litte quieter inside and this is the first step in the project. I have an 08'.

Any advise or part numbers to share?

 

I would just be weary of trapping too much heat inside the engine compartment. Once you start offroading these trucks they heat up real quick. Just something to keep in mind.

 

There was one made and sold through dealers, but it was discontinued. Some of the info I found indicated it was tough to ship them without damaging them. I almost got one on ebay a while back (dealer selling out), but missed it.

You might check with a dealer to see if they can locate one.

 

I'm not sure, but, I think in Europe, a hood insulator is a requirement. I got a factory hood insulator for my '86 Corvette, that was produced for the Vettes that got shipped over there, so, GM may make one.
