I think you may be outa luck. When I bought mine, I was told that you cannot do an after-market hitch. Unless you are a welder etc. you might have to buy the new bumper - dealer quoted me ~$1,100. I'm sure others here have info / knowledge on how to deal with this.

I had to change colors and take a few extra options to get an in-stock H3 with the hitch, otherwise it was wait or pay for the different bumper.

Good luck.

Yes, it can be done. When the 06 H3 was first available NONE of the ones we recieved had a hitch on them. I found a supplier who came up with a solution.

www.premierhummer.com

you will find a retro fit hitch there. No need to replace your bumper. It a good looking solution.

I had my aftermarket hitch installed by U-Haul. It was a drawtite. Don't remember the exact cost but I think it was around $200. I was surprised how good it looked. Everything is hidden under the bumper except the actual receiver.

My 07 H3 was supposed to come with the factory bumper hitch but did not. I paid $500 in advance. The dealer told me that the bumper was welded and could not be swapped for the one with the hitch (is this true? I thought it was bolted on.)
The had a local hitch guy install an aftermarket hitch. I should have went to U-Haul myself, they were only charging $300.
